Both South Burnett and University know what is up for grabs in the Division 2 men’s qualifying final in Kingaroy on Sunday … win and you will automatically progress to the 2014 decider, simple?

Easier said than done.

However, both sides have the firepower and leaders to come out on top.

This will be the Cougars first trip north to Kingaroy to face the Saints and it will be a daunting task.

The Saints have won six out of seven games at home with an average winning margin of 117 points.

South Burnett will also be buoyant with the Saints marching to victory in the only encounter between these top two sides.

When the Saints and Cougars met back in Round 15, South Burnett ran out 13.13 (91) to 8.10 (58) victors at Baker Street.

Adam Bowater was the destroyer that day, kicking a match-winning six majors with the Saints leading for the entire game.

Veteran Scott Sowerby has been a rock up forward for the Cougars 2s, with the 400+ game seasoned campaigner the most consistent Uni player in front of the sticks.

With the University 1s having the bye, no doubt a few fringe players will look to get the extra run in their legs before next week’s big Division 1 qualifying final, however not many Division 1 players have qualified for finals so it will interesting to see which side will take the field.

South Burnett Saints will take on University Cougars at Lyle Vidler Oval on Sunday with the bounce at 2:30pm.
