Don’t be alarmed if you see a few knights and viking warriors wandering around Nanango on Saturday.
The Nanango Art Society is holding its second annual Medieval Fayre in the grounds of the Winds of Change Gallery in George Street.
The free day will kick off at 7:00am with breakfast with market stalls opening at 9:00am.
The official opening, by South Burnett mayor Wayne Kratzmann, will be at 10:00am which will be followed by some fighting fun, a “Sunflower Tourney”.
At 11:00am, there’ll be a medieval fashion parade, a hobby horse joust, boffer fighting and calligraphy classes; followed at 11:30am by a tae kwon-do demonstration.
At high noon, watch out for the public “trial”.
Most of the morning activities will be repeated during the afternoon.
There will also be archery all day as well as wandering minstrels.
The Fayre will wind down at 4:00pm when the focus of activities will shift to the Nanango Cultural Centre for the Medieval Banquet which gets underway at 7:00pm.
