The Kingaroy Lions Club is helping Kumbia’s much-loved kindergarten to thrive.
The club recently presented the Kumbia Kindergarten with a cheque for $2000 to help make up for a shortfall in government funding the kindy will be facing next year.
Kindergarten secretary Jules Entwistle thanked the Lions Club for their generous donation.
Earlier this year, parents feared that because the contract for the Kindy’s “legacy” funding guarantee expired at the end of 2014, it might have to close.
However, the kindy has since received assurances that funding will be ongoing although it will no longer be indexed, leaving fundraising to make up the difference.
