Dairy farmers from across south-east Queensland will gather in Toowoomba in September – and Gympie in November – for the Queensland Dairyfarmers’ Organisation’s annual conference.

The dual format is designed to accommodate farmers’ busy schedules and to ensure a large number of farmers are given an opportunity to attend.

There will be similar themes at the two conferences but also some unique presentations, meaning that farmers could choose to attend just one conference, or both.

The Toowoomba conference will be held on September 16 and the Gympie conference on November 5.

The theme will be “New Horizons” with the aim to showcase a number of positive messages for the industry and emerging opportunities.

QDO president Brian Tessmann said the industry’s challenges would be acknowledged, particularly given the difficult year it had faced, but said the conference was an opportunity to look to the future.

“The QDO team has put together a packed program of informative speakers that is going to be of a very high level of interest for dairy farmers and the entire Queensland industry,” Mr Tessmann said.

The September conference will include the QDO annual general meeting while the November conference will also feature the Subtropical Dairy AGM.
