Gympie detectives have charged a third man after investigations into an alleged burglary and assault at Bells Bridge, east of Kilkivan, on August 2.

Police will allege that around 1:30am, a group of people entered a residence on Ellis Road and assaulted a man and woman in the house.

They then allegedly stole a vehicle from the home and fled the scene.

A 17-year-old Gympie man has been charged with burglary, grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning bodily harm in company, stealing a motor vehicle, wilful damage and arson of a stolen motor vehicle.

He is due to appear in the Gympie Magistrates Court on August 14.

A 17-year-old Glenwood man and a 16-year-old Gympie boy were charged last week in relation to the same incident.

Gympie detectives are appealing for any information from the public that may assist with identifying other people involved in the incident.
