Taylah Curley and Brandy George turned out in pink to support Red Ants

July 27, 2014

Pink was the colour to be wearing at Kingaroy’s TJ O’Neill Oval on Saturday at a fundraising day for one of the Kingaroy Red Ants’ club stalwarts.

Lynda Geiger, wife of A Grade coach Darren and mother of U16s player Adam, was recently diagnosed with cancer.

She is now confined to a bed and wheelchair but showed amazing courage on Saturday to make it – complete with pink hair – to see the Red Ants play.

The Kingaroy players turned out in all-pink while many of the opposition players also sported pink socks.

Friends of the couple have been raising money to help the family hire a wheelchair access van to help Lynda get out and about.

Donations can be made to: Brett Porter & Joseph Champney, BSB: 014-690, A/C: 289527013

Half the gate takings from Saturday – and other money raised on the day – will be donated to the family.

To make the day out complete for Lynda, the “Pink Ants” won both the U14s  (30-12) and the U16s (30-0) against the Stags.
