The recent spate of thefts from motor vehicles continued at the weekend with a number of vehicles being targeted in the Kingaroy Heights area.
Thefts were reported to police from Sonaree Drive, Margaret Street, Murray Parade and Raintree Avenue.
Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, from Kingaroy Police, said wallets, UHF radios and GPS satellite navigation systems were stolen.
Astonishingly, given the recent thefts in the area, all the vehicles had been left unlocked.
Snr Sgt Frank said two formal complaints had been lodged with police; other residents had their vehicles entered but did not want to make a complaint.
“There’s no excuse for leaving your vehicle unlocked,” Snr Sgt Frank said.
“Lock it, or lose it.
“How many vehicles did they pass by prior to getting into an unlocked one?”
Scenes of Crime officers have examined a number of vehicles and police investigations are continuing.
