A man has been charged with wilful damage after an apparent family dispute led to a fire that engulfed a shed in Knight Street, Kingaroy, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said the 51-year-old man got into a dispute with another family member at the residence, which was a rental property.
Police will be alleging the man dragged an amount of property belonging to the family member from a shed and piled it up in the yard.
The man then allegedly doused the pile – predominantly clothing – with petrol and lit it.
Unfortunately, the fire got away and engulfed the shed.
