Nanango news:

As usual, their Scroungers competition leads this week’s report.

And as usual – well lately anyway – the leader of the band is Greg Pogson, who topped the scoreboard last Friday with 125 points.

Next best (dragging the chain a bit) was Ben Pratap with 75 points.

On Tuesday in social bowls, with scoring 1 for an end and 4 for a win, a run-down of top scores is as follows:

  • Linda Steverink and Bob Hall – 20 pts
  • Dorothy Hammond, Jim Steverink and Athol Jensen – 18pts
  • Lew Saunders, Henry Bleisner and Ben Pratap – 14pts
  • Ed Haycock and Jim Fowler – 12pts

In the Men’s B Grade Singles semi-final, Ben Pratap won on a forfeit and Glen Yeates def. Joe Agliozzio 25-20.

The final between Ben Pratap and Glen Yeates will be played on Tuesday, June 17.

An on Wednesday in the Ladies Social, there were some matches of interest:

  • Kerry Little and Evelyn Jensen def. Muriel Benfield and Linda Steverink 10-6
  • Sylvia Fanning and Jim Steverink def. Di McNeilage and June McKee 18-5

Finally, a reminder: self selected triples will be held in Nanango today. And on Tuesday, it will be the Men’s B Grade Singles with club selected pairs on the other rinks.
