Kingaroy police are hoping the mini-crimewave that hit the Kingaroy Heights area over the past fortnight may be over following the arrest of a man at the weekend.
Reports of thefts from unlocked vehicles and sheds starting coming into police from May 30.
On Saturday, police arrested a 20-year-old man at his home in Casuarina Drive, Kingaroy.
A search allegedly located a number of items that had been reported stolen recently.
The man has been charged with burglary, enter premises with intent, stealing, fraud and drugs charges.
He has been bailed to reappear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 24.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said investigations were continuing and it was possible more charges could be laid.
He said police would be alleging the man had been wandering the streets at night and stealing from unlocked vehicles and unlocked garages.
Snr Sgt Frank said none of the vehicles targeted had been locked.
He said some property had been returned to its owners, but police still had possession of some items.
“If anyone believes they have had property stolen recently, they should contact Kingaroy Police,” Snr Sgt Frank said.
“And if anyone suspects their vehicle has been entered, and they have not reported it to police, they are encouraged to do so.”
