Yarraman and Cooyar residents and businesspeople tired of unsightly illegal graffiti can apply to Toowoomba Regional Council for a free kit to clean premises.

Council, in conjunction with the State Government, is offering free graffiti removal kits to interested people.

TRC Community Development and Facilities portfolio leader Cr Ros Scotney said the kits contained an eco-safe, non-toxic spray solution, scrubbing brush, protective glasses, gloves, soap and a cloth to clean up illegal graffiti.

Cr Scotney said the free kits were available from any Council customer service centre.

“Preference will be given to people who can quote a Queensland Police Crime Report Number,” Cr Scotney said.

“Residents who do not have one of these numbers can call Policelink on 13-14-44 to detail the location of illegal graffiti. The police will issue a reference number that can be quoted to Council to receive the free kits.

“Council is keen to help residents remove illegal graffiti and tagging on business premises and in residential neighbourhoods.”

Cr Scotney said residents also could report illegal graffiti to the GraffitiSTOP hotline on 1300-472-334 or visit www.GraffitiSTOP.com.au
