The Bjelke-Petersen family property “Bethany” just outside Kingaroy is marking its centenary this week with a number of celebrations.
Tomorrow (May 15), a Biggest Morning Tea will be held from 10:00am to raise funds for the Queensland Cancer Council.
Cost is $5 to enter and there’ll be a lucky door prize and raffles. Bookings are essential. Phone Frances on (07) 4162-5068.
The main day of celebrations will be Saturday:
- Noon – 2:00pm – Lunch ($5)
- 1:00pm – 4:00pm – Vintage car display
- 12:15pm and 2:00pm – Tours ($10pp)
- 3:30pm – Lady Flo Bjelke-Petersen will unveil a centenary plaque
- From 12:30pm – DVD and photo displays
- 2:00pm – 4:00pm – Afternoon tea (scones / tea & coffee)
- 5:30pm – 8:15pm – South Burnett Shed Men – spit roast dinner and damper with guest speakers ($15)
All proceeds from the day will go the Cancer Council.
