Prolific South Burnett goalkicker Adam Bowater has been named in the 2014 AFL Darling Downs talent squad.

Bowater, from Nanango, is the sole South Burnett nominee despite the fact that his South Burnett Saints team are currently sitting in second place on the Darling Downs AFL ladder.

A team will be selected from the squad for an upcoming representative game in Warwick on Saturday, June 7.

The 39-man squad was announced today by AFL Darling Downs men’s representative coach Nick Barker.

He said he was excited by the upcoming representative game and said it was an absolute pleasure to be named as coach.

“The quality of the players we have in this region is amazing and something we should all be proud of,” he said.

The squad will be cut down to a final 22 in the week leading up to the game.

This will occur after a training session to be held at Rockville Oval in Toowoomba next Tuesday (June 3).
