A South Burnett resident is $600,000 richer following a $3 punt on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket sold at the Lucky Charm Newsagency in Haly Street, Kingaroy.
Newsagency owner Donna Carsburg said it was the first “big win” she has seen since she took over the shop eight years ago.
“She brought in the ticket and we checked it,” Donna told southburnett.com.au
“We were able to tell right away that it was the top prize. It was too high for us!
“We have protocols we have to follow so we told her to contact Golden Casket. And they confirmed she had won the prize.”
The woman, who wants to remain anonymous, will now receive $5000 a month for the next 10 years.
She purchased the $3 “Live the Life Venice” ticket about three weeks ago but the news of her big win was only confirmed today by Golden Casket.
Donna said she was so happy for her customer and her staff were also very excited.
“You just never know when it could happen,” she said.
Donna is now selling the new $3 “Live the Life Brazil” Instant Scratch-Its tickets.
