May 11, 2014

Women’s rugby league came to Kingaroy on Friday night with a Sunshine Coast carnival to allow selectors to have a look at players in action before selecting rep teams.

Kingaroy Red Ants fielded two teams, in U17s and U14s.

Other teams came from Beachmere, Nambour, Meridan Plains, Beerwah, Noosa/Palmwoods and Caboolture.

A good crowd turned out at T.J. O’Neill Oval to watch the mini-games which were played on shortened fields with amended rules.

Schehera Broderick, Leilani Fletcher, Sara Keys, Anahh Tosenii, Ella Champney and Brittany Heit have been selected to play in a South Burnett women’s side.
