An elderly man travelling from Gympie to Victoria had his travel plans cut short when he ran off the Bunya Highway south of Kumbia on Anzac Day.
Kumbia police officer Senior Constable Adam Entwistle said he believed fatigue may have been a factor in the crash.
The man’s Ford Falcon hit the guard rail at the Spring Creek Bridge near Niagara Road and then flicked across the road, rolling four or five times before ending up on the edge of the creek.
Senior Constable Entwistle said the man suffered head, leg and chest injuries and was taken to Dalby Hospital for treatment.
