The theft of $1400 cash from The Ration Shed on Sunday afternoon won’t deter the organisers of the Reconciliation Fun Run at Cherbourg from staging another event in 2015.
Ration Shed chairperson Sandra Morgan told southburnett.com.au today it was a big amount of money but it was not the whole proceeds of the run as many people had registered online.
“It won’t stop us from doing it again,” she said.
“It won’t knock us out, it will make us get up and run even faster!”
Officer-in-Charge of Cherbourg Police Sgt Scott Prendergast said police investigations into the theft were continuing.
He said the Fun Run had been a great day for Cherbourg “and just what the town needed” so the incident was disappointing.
