The Wondai Regional Art Gallery’s May exhibition will feature works by Gympie artist Cecile Steenbergen.
Cecile’s exhibition, which will officially open on Friday night, is entitled “Along The Tracks And Me” and will be featured in the Alison Iszlaub Gallery.
It is a retrospective of paintings created after the closure of the Mary Valley railway line from Gympie to Imbil.
Cecile has captured interesting sections from Gympie to Pomona, especially the buildings around the Pomona Railway Carriage Gallery.
The “Me” part of the exhibition is portraits of Cecile, painted by friends over the years.
In the Front Gallery, there will be “Nature Through My Eyes” featuring works by Gold Coast artist Kylie Madill.
Kylie, who is exhibiting for the first time, has always been interested in art and although she has not had a lot of formal training she feels her art portrays her love of nature and her interest in expressing how she feels.
“Song Titles” is in the Third Gallery features works by the Wondai Art Group Sundays (WAGS) which meets at the Art Gallery every Sunday.
Exhibiting artists include Jan Sody, Gwen Olm, Jeanette Parnell, Ethne Kinsela, Daphne Browne and Robyn Parker.
Wondai Kindy will have works in Kidz Corner.
The official opening of the May exhibitions will be held from 6:00pm on Friday night (May 2).
The $5.00 entry cost includes hot and cold supper and punch. Wine will be served by local winery and there will be live entertainment.
The exhibition will remain in the Wondai Gallery throughout May with free entry at all other times.
