Popular Hivesville publican Jane Sullivan will soon be on the other side of the bar.
Jane, who has been the licensee for the past three years, will hand back the reins on Sunday to the hotel’s owner, Denise Godsell.
The local community gave Jane a send-off in style on Saturday night with the annual Mechanical Bull Challenge filling the bars.
“It was a very good night, we had about 30 riders,” she said.
Jane said she was “going to miss the place” but at the same time was looking forward to some “tripping around”.
In the meantime, she said she may be spotted “on the other side of the bar” having a few drinks with friends.
In the short time she has been at the hotel, Jane has made an impact on the local community – particularly during the 2013 floods when she assisted many of the evacuees from Boondooma Dam who were stranded in the region.
She received a “Certificate of Appreciation” for her efforts by the Hivesville community last year.
