The drought meant there was no prime beef competition this year – and no dairy cattle – but that didn’t stop everyone else having a great time at the 105th annual Nanango Show at the weekend.
Judges were kept busy in the stud beef, equestrian ring and pavilion competitions.
Patrons enjoyed a big sideshow alley as well as novelty events such as pig races which had the tiny porkers racing around a mini track.
Post-ripping and chainsaw carving drew good crowds as did the woodchopping, although competitors numbers were down with many of the usual entrants in Sydney for the Royal Easter Show.
Five vintage speedcars, from the Vintage Speedcar Association of Queensland, put on a display in the ring much to the delight of the crowd.
There was also a display from the Mini Club as well as utes and hotrods.
The day finished with a bang with the popular rodeo featuring mutton busting and poddy rides for the juniors as well as bulls and steers for the big boys.
