The Nanango Showgrounds were a hive of activity on Friday in preparation for Saturday’s 105th annual Nanango Show.
Judges were hard at work judging pavilion entries, cattle and dogs … even utes.
And in the evening, Young Judges and Young Handlers were put through their paces with dairy cattle and stud beef.
But the real action will occur on Saturday (April 12), the Show’s main public day.
Apart from horse, poultry and dairy goat judging in the morning and pavilions full of entries to explore, there’ll be a jam-packed free entertainment program running all day.
Featured events this year include pig races (several sessions); wood sculpture (all day); the final day of the Champion Dog Show; working cow horse and led steer competitions; post-ripping, chainsawing and speedcutting.
The Show’s official opening and Grand Parade will occur at 1:30pm, and will be followed by the popular Rodeo at 3:00pm, which will include the Young Farmers’ Challenge.
There’ll also be a Vintage Car Rally at 5:00pm; live entertainment from the Flashback band all evening; the Rooftop Express Show at 8:00pm; and the Heritage Nanango Community Bank’s fireworks about 8:30pm, which will be followed by Ute Muster circle work at 9:00pm and a Demolition Derby at 9:30pm.
The full entertainment program for this year’s Nanango Show appears below.
