It’s been as bit drier this week after last week’s rain.

But the warm weather has been giving greens a bit of a boost – pretty much the same way it’s been making everyone’s household lawns grow.

So let’s take a trip around the bowls clubs to see what’s been going on.

We’ll start with Yarraman first:

Kingaroy news:

Time to catch up on some Championshp results!

In the Mens Open Singles, the qualifying rounds have been completed, and Phil Kemp defeated Paul Geritz 25-21.

Kemp then went on to play in the Semi Final where he defeated Col Kratazmann 25-2.

Phil will now play Richie Patterson in the final

And last Saturday, in the first round of the Ladies Open Singles, Val Jeppesen 25 defeated Charmaine Macleod 15.

Now here’s a result that will interest you all – the delayed Mixed Fours Championship Final:

Gladys Slatter, Rhonda Costello, Glen Turner and Phil Kemp took to the greens against Di Reed, Delwyn Powys, Lester Newman and Errol Young. And after four inches of rain during the week, the greens were unpredictable.

After 19 ends the score was 20 to 18 in favour of the Kemp team, but after the regulation 21 ends the scores were tied at 20-all.

This meant an extra end had to be played – and what a nail-biter it was!

But Team Kemp finally claimed the honours 21-20.

In Wednesday’s Fours, with winners determined by highest winning margin:

  • Amanda Le Mesurier, June Olsson, Des Richards and Maureen Semgreen 28 def. Dave Woods, Norma Rook, Steve Carland and Diane Reed 9. Margin 19
  • Evelyn Taylor, Felipe Munoz, Col Kratzmann and Annette O’Brien 22 def. Dave Clinker, Peggy Robinson, Gladys Slatter and Val Crawford 19.Margin 3

In Thursday’s Triples, with 6 points for a win, 1 point for each end won and highest winning margin to break a tie:

  • Winners: Mark Kilkenny, Ben Pratap and Merv Anderson – 21 Points.
  • Runners Up: Barry O’Brien, Geoff Clutterbuck and Alan Irwin – 18 points on a countback.
