Brisbane Valley Heritage Trails are calling on the South Burnett’s photographers to enter a new photographic competition.
The competition’s theme is “Journeys Through The Brisbane River Valley” and all photographs must be original works taken by entrants in the Brisbane River Valley, but can show any aspect of it.
The competition will offer a $1000 first prize in the Open Section, along with a second prize and a People’s Choice award.
There is also a Youth Section for young photographers aged 12 to 18 years, and a Children’s Section for entrants aged 11 years and under.
Both of these sections will also offer first and second prizes and a People’s Choice award.
The winners of the competition will be announced at a special Opening Night held at Moore Hall in Main Street, Moore on Friday, May 2 at 7:00pm.
Afterwards the winning photographs – along with those which receive commendations – will be kept for a further six weeks to appear in a travelling exhibition.
The competition is jointly sponsored by Brisbane Valley Heritage Trails, the South Burnett Regional Council, Toowoomba Regional Council, Somerset Regional Council and Bendigo Bank.
Entry fees are $10 for each photo entered in the Open Section, and $5 for every four entries in either of the junior sections.
Entry forms and conditions can be obtained from Brisbane Valley Heritage Trails by email.
Entries will close on Thursday, April 17.
