Gympie Regional Council, in partnership with the Queensland Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, QRAA and the Australian Government Department of Human Services is hosting Drought Relief Assistance and Information sessions in the region today.
Primary producers have been encouraged to attend to meet with agency representatives and receive information about assistance currently available and also register to receive information in the event of further assistance packages being released.
Cr Tony Perrett encouraged producers or anyone who was seeking information to attend.
“The current drought is having a significant toll on our primary producers not only financially, but emotionally.
“In this critical situation, primary producers need to avail themselves of the opportunity to seek assistance and gain information,” he said.
The information sessions will be held from:
- 8:00am-noon – Goomeri Hall of Memory
- 1:00pm-5:00pm – Kilkivan Hall
