March 18, 2014

You weren’t imagining it … there have been a lot more South Burnett citizens wearing green – and funny hats – around the place in the past few days than you’d normally see in the area.

March 17, of course, is St Patrick’s Day, when everyone – no matter their cultural background – seems to be at least a little bit Irish.

Popular events were organised in Kingaroy and Kumbia over the past few days.

At Kingaroy RSL

Kingaroy RSL Club marked St Patrick’s Day with a special night of “Leprechauns, Laughter and Music” in the Tobruk Room on Friday night. There was also green beer (and interestingly dressed staff members) at the Long Tan Bar.

At St Mary’s Catholic College

Each class showed off their St Paddy’s day hats and constumes, and then competed on stage to show off their best Irish dancing moves.
