Works by North Queensland wildlife and Aussie heritage artist Owen Pointon will be featured at the Bunya Forest Gallery on the Bunya Mountains during April.
The solo art show is entitled “Autumn in the Bunyas” and includes paintings and limited edition prints depicting the wildlife and scenery of the Bunya Mountains.
Owen, who grew up at Cleveland in Brisbane, has been sketching and painting since the age of 10.
But the self-taught artist has been painting seriously for more than 15 years, particularly after the former postie decided on a tree change to North Queensland.
These days he’s based on the Atherton Tablelands where he particularly enjoys capturing the local wildlife on canvas.
He is also artist-in–residence at Yungaburra’s Chalet Rainforest Gallery.
