RACQ CareFlight Rescue has flown to the aid of a 45-year-old man who was knocked from his motorcycle after hitting a wallaby this afternoon.
The man, from the Somerset region, was riding with friends in the Bunya Mountains when the animal jumped out onto the road in front of him.
He crashed and sustained arm and possible head injuries.
A helicopter from Toowoomba’s Clive Berghofer CareFlight Centre was able to land at an adjoining property.
The injured man was treated by the helicopter’s flight doctor and intensive care flight paramedic and transferred to Toowoomba Base Hospital in a stable condition.
