Wondai State School’s new school leaders for 2014 were formally sworn in at an induction ceremony on Monday.

They are vice-captain Courtney Tyson and captain Kobie Watts.

Also inducted into office were Year 9 students as school leaders, sporting house captains and school council representatives for each grade.

Principal Ruth Miller gave a brief talk on “YES” to students, staff, invited guests and parents.

“YES” explains the school’s beliefs, ie

  • You Can Do It (and together WE can do anything)
  • Expect Success (best effort from everyone – staff and students)
  • School Is Cool (Come to school every day, you will be supported!)

She also mentioned the school’s expectations: Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Respectful.

Parents, guests and Year 9 students then enjoyed morning tea together.
