It’s been a hot and sweaty week across most of the region as we all wait for a bit of rain.

But the steamy weather hasn’t stopped keen bowlers donning the whites and heading out onto the greens for some keen competition.

Heading this bulletin…

Kingaroy news:

Kingaroy … always plenty happening there!

Last Sunday in Jackpot Pairs – a monthly event – each pair played two games of 18 ends, with the winner determined by the amount of games won and the overall winning margin.

  • Winners: Maureen Semgreen and Kerry Smith – 2 wins plus margin 22
  • Runner-Up: Paul Marychurch and Richie Patterson – 2 wins plus margin 13
  • Third: Geoff Clutterbuck and Kev Raffin – 2 wins plus margin 4

  • Darcy Munro, Maree Millard and Bob Robinson 21 def. Peter Neilsen, Geoff Clutterbuck and Col Kratzmann 17
  • Dave Barwick and Danny Holligan 18 def. Charmaine Macleod and Bronwyn Grant 14

And in Thursday’s Triples, with 6 points for a win and 1 point for each end won, three teams finished on 19 points after a closely fought out competition, so the biggest winning margin was used to determine the overall winner.

  • Winners: Darcy Munro, Peter Neilsen and Ben Pratap – 19 points, winning margin 14
  • Runners-Up: Dave Woods, Eric Ford and Alan Irwin – 19 points, winning margin 8
