A funeral will be held in Gympie on Thursday for well-known Kilkivan resident Sue Currie, wife of former Kilkivan Shire Council CEO Ray Currie and a long-time curator of the Kilkivan and District Historical Society Museum.
Sue was Kilkivan Shire’s Citizen of the Year in 2005, and was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in the 2013 Queen’s Birthday Honours List for her service to the Kilkivan community.
She had been battling motor neurone disease for many years and died on February 14.
The funeral will be held from 10:30am on Thursday at the Cooloola Coast Crematorium Chapel, 236 Brisbane Road, Gympie.
