Kingaroy police have taken possession of five cannabis plants more than 2m tall after they were called to a residence in Wooroolin yesterday evening.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said police were called to the home in Short Street on an unrelated matter.
While they were there, they allegedly located the tall cannabis growing along the side of the house.
An 18-year-old Wooroolin man has been charged with producing a dangerous drug, possessing a danger drug and possessing drug utensils.
The man’s 48-year-old mother has been charged with permitting a place to be used for drug offences.
The pair will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on February 20.
Snr Sgt Frank said the plants were in good condition and obviously well cared for.
He said it was uncommon to find cannabis plants of this size growing in the local area but this was the second time within a week.
Police allegedly located six plants growing in a backyard of an Avoca Street house in Kingaroy last week.
