Kingaroy Police breath-tested more then 1100 drivers during January and found only one person over the limit.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said it was a “pleasing statistic” as the message must be starting to get through to people.
During January, there were two crashes in the Kingaroy where people required treatment for injuries.
However, across Queensland so far this year there have been 21 road fatalities – including the elderly man injured at Tingoora last month – with two deaths already in February.
