Cats, the musicalJanuary 30, 2014

Are you a cat? Tabby cat, tom cat, fat cat … even a kitten? Then the South Burnett Musical Comedy Society wants you!

The group plans to perform Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famous musical later this year and needs a clowder (apparently that’s the right collective noun) of cats to make it happen.

They need singing cats, dancing cats, old cats and kittens. Age, sex and body shape is not important!

The group has two information sessions planned for potential cast members and have also fixed a date for auditions.

The first information session will be held at the SBMC Society Shed – at the rear of the South Burnett Enterprise Centre at 6 Cornish Street, Kingaroy – from 2:00pm to 3:30pm on Sunday, February 9.

The second session will he held from 7:30pm-8:30pm at the same venue on Wednesday, February 12.

The two sessions will provide information about rehearsals, costumes, makeup etc.

Auditions will be held in three sessions at the SBMC Shed on Sunday, February 16.

From 9:00am to 11:00am, dancer/singers will have the opportunity to try out.

Soloists will be invited to sing a chorus and a verse from a song (not from Cats) between 11:00am and noon.

Then singer/dancers will try out between 1:00pm and 3:00pm.
