Jamie’s Ministry of Food trainers Renee Truscott, Alira Paff and kitchen manager Nikki Kavanagh

January 30, 2014

Jamie’s Ministry Of Food – currently visiting the South Burnett – celebrated its second birthday on Wednesday and local residents were invited along for the party.

The mobile kitchen, which is parked in the Scott Car Park during its Nanango visit, was thrown open to visitors to inspect all the cooking facilities.

Jamie’s Ministry of Food trainers put on free food preparation demonstrations, including how to make healthy smoothies and pancakes.

The large van was packed to overflowing for the demonstrations.

Outside there were displays from the South Burnett Regional Council’s Healthy Communities program.

All spots are booked out for the Jamie’s Ministry Of Food  courses in Nanango but South Burnett residents will have a second chance to learn Jamie Oliver’s cooking hints, tips and shortcuts when the van shifts later next month to Wondai.

The five-week course teaches participants how to cook with fresh ingredients via a hands-on experience.
