The touch football grounds at TJ O’Neill Oval have received an upgrade prior to the commencement of the 2014 season.

Over 74 cubic metres of topsoil was laid over one of the smaller fields at the northern end of the complex recently.

Touch volunteers Kelly Payne and Barney Horne spent two days laser levelling the field to bring the playing surface up to a first grade standard.

“The modern game of touch has become very quick and skillful, so players require the best playing surface we can provide,” Kelly Payne said.

Topsoil was donated by Rowan Hayes from Wandarri Sand and Gravel and Keith Crawford from Crawfords Sand And Gravel Supplies.
