Football South Burnett
Due to many referees leaving and retiring at the area at the end of last season, Football South Burnett is short on referees.
Three years ago we had 25 registered referees; we are now down to eight.
The situation is quite dire. So far we have eight candidates for next month’s course but need more.
On Saturday, February 15, a Football Federation Australia Level 4 (entry level) course will be run at Kingaroy Senior Soccer Club at Tom Alford Oval.
The course is free and starts at 8:30am sharp and should be finished about 4:00pm.
You will be required to do a short online “Laws of the Game” certificate and complete this before doing the course in February.
We are particularly interested in current players, ex-players who would like to keep in touch with the game and keep fit as well as current or ex-referees that would like to return.
Refereeing is not for everyone; we do ask for commitment and expect continual improvement. There are standards that have to be met and we do this through training one evening per month. In return, referees get remunerated quite well for the time they put in.
