Australia DayJanuary 14, 2014

It’s Wondai’s turn to host the annual South Burnett Regional Council Australia Day awards ceremony.

The awards, which honour nominees for their community achievements over the past 12 months, will be presented at a special ceremony from 6:30pm on the eve of Australia Day – Saturday, January 25 – at Wondai Town Hall.

A large number of local residents have been nominated for awards in various categories but the winners will not be revealed until the big night.

The Matthew Hayden Bursary will be presented to the winner of the Junior Sportsperson of the Year award.

Unfortunately, Matthew is unable to attend the ceremony but will send through a special message via DVD.

His parents, Lawrie and Moya Hayden, will present the Bursary on his behalf.
