Due to the severe danger of potentially uncontrollable wildfires today, all fire permits have been suspended for the South and North Burnett council areas and the Cherbourg and Gympie council areas.
The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service said the suspension will remain until further notice.
The QFRS says the weather is perfect for bushfires to ignite and spread quickly and it is important residents remain vigilant.
Power tools may be used however QFRS encourages people to use these with extreme care and ensure adequate equipment is available to extinguish any fire which may start.
Fires that start may be unpredictable, uncontrollable and fast-moving.
The Rural Fire Service Queensland advises residents to:
- Check your bushfire survival plan … now
- Monitor the fire and weather situation in any way you can through www.ruralfire.qld.gov.au and www.bom.gov.au, television or radio
- Call Triple Zero if you see a fire
