CROW-FM's Chris "Corky" Corcoran and Sharnae "Shazz" Birkett with the Santa Grab For Cash Wheel ... more than $6000 in prize money was up for grabs

December 14, 2013

Christmas spirit took over the heart of Murgon on Friday night with hundreds of people turning out for the town’s annual festive celebration.

Free entertainment was provided by the Wondai and District Town Band as well as the ┬áSouth Burnett Community Orchestra’s string ensemble.

The hundreds of children running around were entranced by Santa Claus and the towering amusement rides but their parents were more interested in the “Santa Grab For Cash” wheel where $6000 in prize money was up for grabs for shoppers who had taken part in a special Christmas promotion.

Corky and Shazz from CROW-FM compered the evening and the giveaways.

Various Murgon community groups joined in the carnival fun.

Rotary’s chocolate wheel proved popular with eager ticket buyers standing by for the next spin of the wheel.

And despite a heavy shower in nearby Wondai, the weather held off to allow families to enjoy a balmy night under the stars.
