A public information session about the draft Water Resource (Burnett Basin) Plan 2013 will be held at Murgon Town Hall next week.
The information session, from 3:30pm–5:30pm on November 13, will discuss the draft plan and an accompanying overview report.
These can be viewed or downloaded online
The overview report was prepared to assist understanding of the new draft plan. It summarises the assessments undertaken in developing the plan, explains the plan’s key provisions and the process for finalising and implementing the plan.
The technical assessments that were undertaken to support the development and preparation of the new draft plan, including social, economic and environmental assessments, are also available.
Natural Resources Minister Andrew Cripps said submissions from the public were now being sought.
The steps required to make a properly made submission are contained in the overview report.
All issues raised in submissions will be considered by the Minister when finalising the new draft plan.
