Local Greens spokesman Grant Newson is planning a “pink” protest at Nanango’s Christmas Markets next month against the State Government’s anti-bikie crackdown.
Mr Newson, who has stood for the both the State seat of Nanango and the Federal seat of Maranoa, said today the protest – which targets the Vicious Lawless Association Disestablishment Act and the Police Powers and Responsibilities and Other Legislation Act – will be held from 9:00am on Saturday, December 7.
“Not happy with Newmans VLAD law or his new ‘anti-fun’ law? Get some pink overalls, some disposable overalls and paint them pink and wear them to the Nanango Markets on Saturday, December 7,” Mr Newson said.
“This is in protest to Campbell Newmans’ regime and his attitude towards bikies.”
The pink theme has become something of a meme on Facebook after the State Government announced it would make outlaw bikers wear pink prison garb in a new high security prison.
