The South Burnett will have two representatives on the 12-member board of Southern Queensland Country Tourism (SQTC) next year.
They are SBRC Mayor Wayne Kratzmann, who will be the local government representative for the South Burnett; and industry representative Mr Shannon Scott from Taste South Burnett.
Mr Scott is also Vice President of the Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the South Burnett Wine Industry Association.
The SQCT Regional Tourism Board represents Toowoomba, the South Burnett, Granite Belt, Southern Downs and Western Country. It’s the peak tourism body responsible for marketing these areas to intrastate, interstate and international tourists.
SQCT held its Annual General Meeting on Monday, November 25 at the Empire Theatre in Toowoomba, where the following board members were elected for 2014:

The South Burnett Regional Council currently contributes $40,000 per annum to SQCT.
