Amber Pogany, from Kingaroy, had a polished look behind the bar

November 26, 2013

November is Movember which is why we’re spotting a lot more hirsute gents around the place at the moment … but at the Kingaroy RSL Club on Tuesday night, the ladies weren’t allowing a trivial thing like gender to get in the way of getting hairy for a good cause.

Movember is a fundraiser – and a way to raise awareness – of men’s health initiatives.

Teams of men have been signing up to grow moustaches and gather donations for the cause.

Among a string of locals taking part is the Kingaroy RSL Mo Bro team, captained by barman Andrew O’Toole.

To help out, the club turned its regular Tuesday Trivia Night this week into a Movember fundraiser.

Teams – men and women – were invited to come along with their best moustaches.

There was a competition for the worst and best fake moustaches (and the best real one, too).
