Tea is served! The Kingaroy Girl Guides showed off their cooking and hospitality skills this afternoon at a High Tea to help mark the 20th anniversary of the opening of their hut in Mant Street.

Former girl guides and proud parents attended the celebration.

South Burnett District Leader Amanda May said the guides made all the scones, pikelets and sandwiches which they then served to their special visitors along with tea and coffee in their finest china.

The troop has 34 guides, aged from 5 to 14 (they can stay until they’re 18 but the group doesn’t have any older members at present).

The Girl Guides have been operating in Kingaroy for about 85 years.
