The Grade 2 Classical Ballerinas will be going through their moves on stage

November 23, 2013

Murgon Town Hall will be the place to be on Sunday afternoon if you’re a fan of Shrek … or dancing!

The Susan Dowdle School of Dance will be holding the first of its two end-of-year concerts at Murgon Town Hall.

The concert – which is always a big social occasion in Murgon – will be made up of three sections.

In the first, students will be presenting jazz, tap and neo-classical dancing to a range of TV theme songs such the Flintstones, Friends, Dynasty, Charlies Angels, and many more.

In the next section, the students will be presenting classical ballet groups to the melodies from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

Dance instructor Susan Mollenhauer said the final section would be the highlight of the evening.

“We will present our very own version of the hit movie Shrek,” she said.

The school was established by Susan in 2000. Since then it has trained hundreds of young South Burnett dancers in classical, tap, hip hop and jazz with several graduates going on to become professional dancers and dance teachers.

The 2013 concerts will be held from 2:30pm on Sunday (November 24), and from 6:30pm on Saturday, November 30.

Tickets are available from Murgon Trendsetter or at the door.
