Three South Burnett residents have been honoured by the Arthritis Foundation for their dedication to helping local arthritis and osteoporosis sufferers.

June Kimlin, Elizabeth Rietveld and Carmel McNee – all foundation members of the South Burnett Arthritis and Osteoporosis Support Group – received special certificates from the Arthritis Foundation this week.

June, the president of the group, was awarded an Honorary Life Membership; Elizabeth a Certificate of Commendation; and Carmel a Certificate of Appreciation.

The South Burnett Arthritis and Osteoporosis Support Group meets on the first Wednesday of each month at the Artie Kerr Building at 130 Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy.

It was founded to provide a place where sufferers can support one another, share stories and swap information.

Meetings start at 10:00am, and regular activities include guest speakers, videos, outings and picnics.

The group also provide resource material and information about arthritis, osteoporosis and lupus.

You can obtain more information by phoning June on (07) 4162-2398 or Elizabeth on (07) 4164-7108.
