What a great weekend we have just had!

The Kilcoy Men’s Two Day Men’s Carnival had 16 teams. So did Rosebowl at Nanango. And the Gayndah Men’s Fours missed out by two points on making the final of the State Champion of Club Champions title at Broadbeach.

But they did well – two wins out of three rounds.

So let’s talk about Gayndah first:

The mens fours put up a great effort at the State tournament at Broadbeach.

The team – Alex McColm, Kevin Putney, Alan Cooper, and Ashley Harris – convincingly won two rounds but lost the third by two points to the eventual winners, Wynnum-Manly.

Well done boys!

Good roll-up on Thursday for night for social bowls over 18 ends.

Dougie Bitossi, Lenny Smyth and Macca were the winners, while Cranky Faulkner, Aileen Byrne and Paul Wlazly came in runners-up.

And in Yarraman:

Two big wins were scored at Yarraman Ladies social bowls on Wednesday:

  • Jenny Moore, Alison Anderson and John Moore 24 def Kay Dugdell, Yvonne Schultz and Di Currell 6
  • and in another game, soon-to-be-a-92 year old Elaine Elliott teamed with Robyn Diercke and Brian Dugdell to down Eunice Smith, Rita Young and Neil Currell 20 – 7.

Opposing lead Eunice described the veteran Elaine as the Iron Lady.

Eunice told her colleagues “Every time I sent a good bowl down she would take me out.”

Thursday night bowls is also continuing to prove very popular, with conditions one for an end two for a win.

Who won??? Brian Dugdell and Ron Tysoe.

They defeated Kev Profke and Kerry Walsh 28-4 which gave them 19 points. Some smart bowling there.
