Kingaroy Quota Club’s special Spring High Tea on Saturday has raised almost $4000 for the RACQ CareFlight helicopter rescue service.
The posh High Tea, held in the grounds of the Hope Vale near Coolabunia, featured live music from the South Burnett Community Orchestra’s string ensemble as well as vocal presentations by the South Burnett Chorale and the men’s choir “Vocal Mayhem”.
The funds were raised via raffles and the entry fee.
Special guests were Tyler Favier, 14, from Kingaroy, and his mum Tanya.
Tyler’s life was saved by the chopper service two years ago when he was flown to Brisbane for urgent treatment after suffering complications from his Type 1 diabetes.
Angela Miles, from RACQ CareFlight, was also presented with a cheque for $2500 by Dennis Franklin, from Stanwell, the proceeds of a recent golf day organised by the corporation.
An RACQ CareFlight chopper also made an impromptu appearance, buzzing the property on its way back to Nambour Hospital.
