South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann has urged the public to dob in vandals after a spree in Nanango’s Pioneer Park.

He said that vandals placed an explosive device inside two rubbish bins in the park, blowing the front door off the bin containment units.

Vandals also broke and kicked out a safety fence.

It will cost Council about $2500 to replace each bin.

“This is mindless vandalism and is unfair to the ratepayers who have to bear the costs of replacing these Park facilities,” he said.

Anyone who sees any sort of vandalism has been urged to report it to police immediately.
