The Wondai Race Club will be holding its traditional Caulfield Cup race meeting at the Wondai Racecourse in Cadell Street this Saturday (October 19).
This will be a five race meeting and the first race will leave the barriers at 1:40pm.
As usual, the meeting will feature an on-course TAB, live telecasts of interstate races, an undercover betting ring, barbecue and bar, as well as the Lady Luck Cocktail Bar.
Today will be a particularly special day because it marks the club’s centenary.
This meeting’s theme is “Diamonds & Pearls With A Twist Of Vintage” and guests who dress to it can compete in the Fashions Of The Field competition for great prizes.
Buses will be leaving the Fitzroy Hotel in Nanango at noon, the Kingaroy Hotel-Motel at 12:30pm, Proston’s Golden Spurs Hotel at 11:30am, the Hivesville Hotel at 11:45am and the Murgon Newsagency at 12:30pm (phone 0427-193-552 to guarantee a seat).
Gates will open at the track about noon with Race 1 leaving the barriers at 1:40pm.
